About Bob’s Practice

An Integrative Approach to Mind-Body Healing

Guiding the Body Back to Balance

Where Science Meets the Body’s Innate Wisdom

About Bob DeLuca

Bob DeLuca is formally trained in Osteopathic Medicine with over 20 years of practice, specializing in advanced hands-on body therapies. By combining his deep understanding of the body’s natural healing wisdom with a natural, intuitive approach, Bob is able to connect with the body on a profound level. This allows him to guide clients toward healing that extends beyond physical pain, addressing emotional and spiritual well-being.

Bob’s journey into the healing arts began at the Canadian College of Osteopathy and the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy, where he learned to work with the body in harmony with its natural rhythms. Through years of study and hands-on experience, he has developed a deep understanding of the body’s wisdom and healing potential. This understanding now shapes his practice, which is grounded in the principles of precision, awareness, and a receptive connection to the body’s signals. By using a variety of diagnostic techniques, Bob can assess the body’s mobility from the whole body down to the smallest nerve or blood vessel. This allows him to uncover underlying issues that might not be immediately apparent, such as how headaches could stem from hip dysfunction or how frozen shoulders may relate to lung, rib, or liver restrictions. His ability to tune into these subtle cues is what makes his work so effective.

Bob is certified in several powerful, cutting-edge modalities that complement his Osteopathic Manual Therapy practice like Softwave Shockwave Therapy, Huber 360 Movement Lab, and more.  Whether you're seeking relief from pain, recovering from injury, or looking to improve your overall health, Bob works with you to uncover the root of the issue and support your body’s natural healing process.

Some of the modalities that influence Bob's work include:

  • Cranial Osteopathy (also known as CranioSacral Therapy) – A deep, biodynamic approach that embraces the body's natural rhythms to address physical and emotional tension.

  • Brain Therapy – Working directly with neurons, glymphatics, and other structures of the brain.

  • Lymph Drainage Therapy – Manual mapping of the lymphatic system to detect and reroute compromised flow.

  • Bone Marrow Work – Often applied to immune system dysfunction and allergies.

  • Heart-Centered Therapy – A transformative approach developed by Alaya Chikly, focusing on the wisdom of the heart.

  • Visceral Manipulation – An osteopathic method for working with the organs and related structures to relieve tension and dysfunction in the body.

  • Neural Manipulation – A gentle, specific technique for working directly on nerves to restore balance and ease.

  • Additional influences include years of osteopathic training and, most of all, the people Bob works with, who are his greatest teachers.

Integrity

Bob’s work is built on honesty, trust, and respect for each person who comes to him for care. His true wish is to help people find real, lasting healing, not quick fixes. Every recommendation, treatment, and interaction is guided by a commitment to transparency and the belief that people deserve clear, effective options for their health.

Empathy

Bob understands that behind every symptom is a person with a story. His approach is gentle, patient, and deeply intuitive, meeting people where they are with compassion and respect. Whether working with children, adults, or families, his goal is always to create a safe, supportive environment where healing can unfold naturally.

Innovation

Always seeking better ways to serve his patients, Bob continuously studies and trains in therapies that are not yet widely known or advertised in the U.S. His travels and dedication to learning have brought some of the most effective, cutting-edge modalities back to his Nevada City community. By integrating these tools with his osteopathic expertise, Bob shows people that there are real alternatives for treating chronic conditions—options that can truly change lives.

Philosophy

"Years ago, anthropologist Margaret Mead was asked by a student what she considered to be the first sign of civilization in a culture. The student expected Mead to talk about fishhooks or clay pots or grinding stones.

But no. Mead said that the first sign of civilization in an ancient culture was a femur (thighbone) that had been broken and then healed. Mead explained that in the animal kingdom, if you break your leg, you die. You cannot run from danger, get to the river for a drink or hunt for food. You are meat for prowling beasts. No animal survives a broken leg long enough for the bone to heal.

A broken femur that has healed is evidence that someone has taken time to stay with the one who fell, has bound up the wound, has carried the person to safety and has tended the person through recovery. Helping someone else through difficulty is where civilization starts, Mead said."

We are at our best when we serve others.
